I think that it would be cool if there was a night and day in Runescape.
Day: All of the citizens would wonder around. Stalls open. Regular every day Runescape.
Night: Much less citizens roam the streets. Many guards are out on night duty. Popular cities would light up with candles, and so on. Characters act sleepy when you talk to them. And maybe some night creatures come out of the dark, and attack. :O.
Feel free to write down your own thoughts/ideas. ^.^
I believe it was suggested, but it would be a great idea! I would think that it would be hard to come up with a set night time due to people playing all around the world.

I think that the time of day - or night - should be the same for everyone on Runescape.
If it is the same, then the people in china would always get on when its night time or vice versa. The prices of shop items would rise at night/morning due to lack of supply at night.
They could base it off what time zone the Ip your connecting from is in, but obviously some people would see different Npcs and it wouldn't look right. If they made it so it used a global time, as posted above, people on the other side of the world would only see the night.
The only realistic way of doing it I can think of would be to change in-game time every, say, 6 hrs. This would mean everyone is seeing the same time and can expirence the changing atmosphere.
they can make day last for 3 houres and night too....so you can play 12 houres and in game would be 2 days.
another thing could be day and night changing by world...
lt's say world 28 is a UK server (you can see what server is it in the world select) so when there is night in the UK ,there will be night in the UK servers.
same thing for canada,usa and every country....

That way it would be the same players all over the world, yet would change slightly from day to day so that 5pm for example would be daylight for six days in a row followed by night six days in a row. Anyway, even though the post I made was years ago it is still a good read.
Plus there are good artist impessions of nighttime.
