The GEC performs an analysis of items in our database in order to detect if items are being manipulated by clans. As a rule, the GEC does not endorse clan manipulation. However, clan manipulation can effect other innocent investors in RuneScape, and therefore we provide this detection so investors can make informed investing decisions
Our Clan Manipulation detection mathmatics are not perfect, but they do provide a nice level of logic and reasonable accuracy. The GEC uses what we call the 4x4 rule. Any items that have increased and/or decreased in overall value by more than 4% for four days out of the past five days are flagged as potentially being manipulated. New items added to the oGE and GEC are exempt from this detection as larger than usual interest in these items by all RuneScape players is expected.
WHAT IS RUNESCAPE? RuneScape is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) created by Andrew Gower and operated by Jagex Ltd.
